Research interests in Wei Laboratory include development of optical probes and miniaturized sensors for biological and pharmaceutical molecules, visual chiral analysis, and investigation of chiral selective interactions between organic or inorganic chiral environments and biomolecules. As we all know, chirality is one of the natural properties of biological system from small biomolecules to bio-macromolecules and to macroscopic life entity. Numerous life processes, biological effect of exogenous molecules, and pharmacology and toxicology of medicinal molecules are enantioselective. However, origin of homochirality of biosystems still remains an important scientific puzzle. Our research can provide more potent tools and methods for relevant researches in pharmacy, biology, and clinical medicine.
